As part of the American Red Cross, we stand ready to assist in disaster response down the street, across the country and around the world.

Ralph McAteer, a Red Cross volunteer from Myrtle Beach is one of the Red Cross volunteers who recently helped on an out of state disaster. He summed up the experience like this, "We helped feed and shelter people all along a flooded river. It just feels good to be able to help them. That's why I volunteer with the Red Cross. People just light up when they see us coming in the ERV...they know help is on the way."
